We’ve built many courses over the past 10 years. It’s easy to create a course and get it live, it’s much harder to make it successful. Here’s our checklist for creating an online course:
Determine the course goals and objectives: What do you want your students to learn and be able to do by the end of the course?
Identify the target audience: Who will be taking the course and what are their needs, interests, and learning styles?
Develop the course content: Organize the content into manageable units or modules, and include a mix of text, video, audio, images, and interactive elements.
Choose an online course platform: Consider factors such as ease of use, cost, and compatibility with your content and learning activities.
Create an engaging and interactive learning experience: Include quizzes, discussions, and other activities to encourage student engagement and participation.
Design a course syllabus and schedule: Include information on the course goals, objectives, schedule, policies, and resources.
Develop a course assessment plan: Determine how you will evaluate student performance and progress throughout the course.
Plan for technical support: Anticipate potential technical issues and have a plan in place to provide support to students.
Test the course: Before launching, test the course to ensure that it is functioning properly and that the content is easy to navigate and understand.
Promote the course: Use various marketing channels to reach your target audience and attract students to the course.
Continuously monitor and evaluate the course: Gather feedback from students and make adjustments as necessary to improve the course.
